Protect Health & Safety Limited can conduct effective routine monitoring, to ensure that all fire systems on your site are maintained in a fully operable condition.

We can also provide suitable training for your Incident Control Officers, Fire Marshals & PEP Buddies, plus fire safety induction presentations and support material for staff and other site users.

Fire drills should be conducted at least once a year (preferably twice a year), according to the The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, 2005 (FSO).

During each fire drill:

+ The obstruction of one or more escape routes should be simulated
+ The fire alarm should be sounded
+ The fire routine should be rehersed as fully as circumstances allow
+ Everyone should take part (as far as reasonably practical)

The results from all fire drills should be recorded in the site's Fire Logbook. Where evacuation time limits are not met, or other problems are identified, effective remedial actions should be taken.
Personal evacuation plans (PEP)
PEP are planned procedures for the safe emergency evacuation of people with a disability. A rota should be maintained to ensure that assistance is available at all times. Buddies should receive suitable training in evacuation procedures & the correct use of any special equipment (e.g. evacuation chairs).
Fire Marshals
A rota should be established, to ensure that an appropriate number of Fire Marshals are readily available on each floor of each building at all times. Fire Marshals should receive suitable training and a trained Incident Control Officer should also be available, to coordinate the overall evacuation operation.
