Personal evacuation plans (PEP)
PEP are planned procedures for the safe emergency evacuation of people with a disability. A rota should be maintained to ensure that assistance is available at all times.
Buddies should receive suitable training in evacuation procedures & the correct use of any special equipment (e.g. evacuation chairs).
A rota should be established, to ensure that an appropriate number of Fire Marshals are readily available on each floor of each building at all times.
Fire Marshals should receive suitable training and a trained Incident Control Officer should also be available, to coordinate the overall evacuation operation.
