Protect Health & Safety Limited can conduct an asbestos survey for you in accordance with HSG264 (formally MDHS 100). There are two main types of asbestos survey:
Management Survey
This survey is used to detect asbestos containing materials which could pose a risk during the normal use of a site. It can be conducted in two possible ways:
(a) A presumptive survey ('Type 1'), in which suspect materials are presumed to contain asbestos rather than being analysed in a laboratory.
(b) An investigative survey ('Type 2'), in which small samples are taken from suspect materials and analysed in a laboratory to determine the type and quantity of any asbestos present.
Demolition or Maintenance Survey
This is a more invasive survey ('Type 3'), used to detect any asbestos containing materials which could be disturbed during demolition or maintenance work.
