An up-to-date asbestos register should be maintained. This should be made available to anyone working on site, especially maintenance personnel.
Under Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations,
2012, there is a legal requirement to create and maintain a written record of the location of
asbestos containing materials (ACM) and presumed ACM in all commercial properties.
An asbestos register should contain details of each ACM, such as location, type of product, quantity, surface coating, condition, ease of access, asbestos type, material score, priority score and general comments.
Protect Health & Safety Limited provide an asbestos register as part of our asbestos survey
service. Asbestos registers are available in a choice of formats, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
If you already have an asbestos survey report (or have a suitably competent person available to complete an asbestos survey in-house), we can provide a blank asbestos register document,
spreadsheet or database for you to use.
